SDSN Canada mobilizes its members and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs through:

Education

Piloting an interactive SDGs educational simulation called the 'World's Future' to teach on the interconnected nature of the SDGs and the trade-offs and negotiations needed in order to achieve them.

Convening a Canadian community of practice on 'Teaching the SDGs' bringing together faculty members from across the country and across disciplines to share resources and help accelerate SDGs education.

Convening 16 SDGs Hubs, giving students across member campuses opportunities to come together to learn about and take action on the SDGs.

Awareness and Engagement

Hosting the annual Together|Ensemble conference, Canada's national all-of-society conversation on the SDGs.

Co-hosting with the Tamarack Institute a community of practice on SDGs Localization, bringing together practitioners, community groups, and municipal leaders for peer-learning opportunities and resource sharing on integrating the SDGs in communities.

Launching a 'Members Challenge' to accelerate progress for the SDGs in Canada by encouraging members to leverage their networks and influence to make the SDGs agenda a priority in their regions.

Solutions

Supports the establishment of SDG Hubs across the network, which organizes on-campus SDG activities, networking opportunities, and initiatives with campus administration, reaching thousands of students.

Developed by ReImagine17 (with support from the network), the Mobilizing Youth for the Sustainable Development Goals toolkit captures key insights, case studies, and advice for students looking to advance the SDGs in their campus community. It draws from the experiences and best practices of student SDG leaders at the University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, Université Laval, and University of Waterloo.
