Education

Supporting Degree Programs on the SDGs through promoting the “Tsinghua-Geneva Dual Master’s Program: Master of Public Policy for SDGs” and the “Tsinghua University Master’s Program: Master of Public Administration for the SDGs” to cultivate international talent in the field of sustainable development.


Organizing an International Competition on the SDGs through hosting a Tsinghua International Case Analysis Competition of Public Policy on the SDGs to encourage more university students to engage in sustainable development.


Developing Executive Training Programs on the SDGs targeting senior leadership from governmental, business and academic circles.


Promoting SDGs Publicly by translating the “Accelerating Education for the SDGs: the SDGs in Universities" guide into Chinese to further promote the SDGs throughout China.

Awareness and Engagement

Research Engagement on the SDGs by carrying out abundant research and consulting services on the SDGs for international organizations, governments, universities and social enterprises.


International Exchanges on the SDGs through organizing international academic conferences and cross-sectoral dialogues to exchange mutual experience and perspectives on SDGs implementation and localization.


Institutional Engagement on the SDGs through launching the Tsinghua University Report on the SDGs, the first university SDGs report in China that combines qualitative and quantitative methods.

Solutions

SDGs Action Plans by providing an explicit SDGs action plan for local governments to promote SDGs implementation.


Roadmaps for SDGs localization by providing practical roadmaps or guidelines on SDGs localization for local governments and social enterprises.


Influence Policy-making by promoting evidence-based policy-making towards the SDGs to local governments.

On March 15, 2024, the 3rd edition of the Universities for Goal 13 Award (UG13) Greater China Finals was held. This event was co-organized by the host institutions of SDSN China Hub and SDSN Hong Kong SAR, the Institute for Sustainable Development Goals of Tsinghua University (Tsinghua SDG Institute) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) respectively. Sponsored by Pernod Ricard China, this event took place in the Auditorium Hall of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University.

The Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2023 (ISF), held on September 7–8, 2023, took center stage in Jakarta, uniting global leaders and experts to discuss the urgent need for sustainability. The ISF concluded its monumental debut with the collective voices of global leaders emphasizing the urgency of sustainability efforts and innovative collaboration. This inaugural international-scale sustainability forum welcomed over 700 international participants and more than 100 esteemed speakers from various sectors, positioning Indonesia at the forefront of global sustainability discourse.

It has been one year since the official launch of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s Asia Headquarters (UN-SDSN Asia) in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur on 17 November 2022. It has been an exhilarating year of mobilization of like-minded partners across the Asia-Pacific, including universities, research institutions, NGOs, government agencies, and multilateral organizations, to accelerate progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement. Our flagship programs have become well-known in the seminar rooms of universities and the corridors of power in several Asian countries, and we look forward to expanding our work going forward.
