SDSN NORTHERN EUROPE


This network includes the following countries and territories:

Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

SDSN Northern Europe mobilizes its members and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs through: 

Education

Actively promotes and supports education for sustainable development among university teachers and for students by providing exercises and workshops where impacts on the SDGs are evaluated using the SDG Impact Assessment Tool. 

Awareness and Engagement

Institutional awareness by actively engaging its members through online and face-to-face meetings, joint activities and projects.


The network also strives to connect members and create collaboration around solutions for sustainable development, the implementation of SDGs at universities, and sustainability communication.


Raises private, public and community awareness by promoting and supporting the use of the SDG Impact Assessment Tool among businesses, municipalities and civil society.


The network also promotes the SDG coloring book for school teachers, children and others who want to learn about the SDGs.

Solutions

The network has developed, applied and scaled up the use of the SDG Impact Assessment Tool. In Northern Europe, it has developed the concept Solutions Initiative Forum (SIF) concept where solutions from small businesses, startups and projects are being evaluated for SDG impacts and highlighted in a Solution Report and the SIF event. The network hosts and supports several Solution Initiatives for Climate Action.

Six chapters of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) have worked together to translate the SDG Impact Assessment Tool into six new languages. This year-long effort was organized by SDSN Northern Europe and is a commendable accomplishment in bridging language barriers and fostering cross-cultural engagement in assessing opportunities and risks to the transformation of a sustainable world.
