SDSN Cyprus, hosted by the Cyprus Research and Educational Foundation (CREF), and established in 2020, mobilizes its members in Cyprus and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Key focus areas include working with relevant government bodies to mainstream the SDGs into policies and strategic documents, raising awareness on climate challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean & Middle East region by fostering the EMME Climate Change Initiative, and organizing the 28th Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.

Report and Policy Brief Detail Cyprus' Path to Climate Neutrality

In December 2023, the Cyprus Institute released a report and a policy brief detailing the trajectory of the Cypriot economy towards achieving climate neutrality. These documents have been widely publicized on the Cyprus Institute and SDSN Global Climate Hub websites.

The Network Participates in the Conference of Environmental Economists

From June 27 to 30, 2023, the 28th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists took place in Limassol. The event was organized by the Cyprus Institute, the Cyprus University of Technology, and the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus. The conference was conducted under the patronage of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts. During the conference, a special policy session was held on June 29, which included the launch of SDSN Europe’s Report by the Senior Working Group on the European Green Deal.
