SDSN Hong Kong, hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Chinese University of Hong Kong and established in 2018, mobilizes its members in Hong Kong and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Key focus areas include engaging with the other Asia-pacific networks to organize webinars and large-scale thematic conferences. Through the co-creation of the CUHK Jockey Club Museum featuring the Climate Action Pledge visitors pledge to act on the climate crisis and encourage them to reflect on their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Global Conference Addresses Socio-environmental Challenges and Innovative Solutions

SDSN Hong Kong hosted its first Global Conference on Sustainable Development on October 4-5, 2023 which addressed pressing environmental and social challenges and served as a platform for global leaders, visionaries, and experts to convene and explore innovative solutions. Speakers included Ban Ki-moon, former United Nations Secretary-General and Co-Chair of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens; Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, President of SDSN; and Professor Thomas Schneider, Chief Executive of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities.

Host Institution Promotes SDSN's Net Zero on Campus Guide

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a member of SDSN's ‘Net Zero on Campus’ University Advisory Panel and served as the first batch of ambassadors to promote the Net Zero on Campus guide in Hong Kong and Greater China.

Network-to-Network Collaboration Leads to Webinar on Sustainable Solutions

The first webinar jointly organized by SDSN Hong Kong, SDSN Philippines, and SDSN Thailand discussed the incubation of sustainable solutions by three champions from these networks. It highlighted the importance of networking and getting involved in events, as well as utilizing social media to promote sustainable ideas.

Host Institution's Museum Gallery Introduces Climate Action Pledge

The Climate Action Gallery in the CUHK-Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change houses and features a collection of portable exhibit modules from the Mobile Museum series. The Gallery has newly introduced the Climate Action Pledge, inviting visitors to pledge to act on the climate crisis and encouraging them to reflect on their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
