SDSN Russia, hosted by Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), and established in 2016, mobilizes its members in Russia and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Key focus areas include promoting health among young people via educational seminars, as well as promoting education for sustainable development. For example, the European University at Saint Petersburg (a member of SDSN Russia), launched its master’s program on “Energy Politics and Energy Transition in Eurasia.”

Local SDG Cities Index Assesses 37 Urban Areas

The host institution of SDSN Russia, RANEPA, localized the SDG Index for Russian cities with a population of over 500 thousand. For 37 cities, 60 indicators were calculated for 15 relevant SDGs, covering the period of 2010-2020/2021. The southern cities obtained higher rankings due to their higher levels of income and cleaner environments.
